Oristano Capital has developed a Multi-sector, global, absolute return strategy that attempts to outperform the S&P 500 with significantly less risk. In order to achieve its long term objectives, Oristano Capital has taken a balanced, value oriented approach that correlates some of its components away from the S&P 500. Our biggest sector bets are taken in areas that we believe are in long term secular bull markets that can last for a decade or more, and although our portfolios can get out of sync at times when shorter cyclical forces kick in, we tend to ignore random walk short term trends in order to remain tax efficient. When certain sector valuations get stretched, or to take on catastrophe insurance, the firm will at times buy protective puts below the market.
