Philosophy

I founded Oristano Capital in a bear market because I was convinced, having experienced market cycles for over forty years, I could offer clients a better platform to provide superior results while protecting their well earned capital.

I have developed a multi-sector, global, balanced return strategy that attempts to outperform the S&P 500 with significantly less risk. It is based on a balanced, value-oriented approach that correlates some of its components away from the S&P 500. Our biggest sector bets are taken in areas that we believe are in long-term secular bull markets that can last for a decade or more, and although our portfolios can get out of sync at times when shorter cyclical forces kick in, we tend to ignore these random walk, short-term trends to remain focused on the longer term macro scenario. When certain sector valuations get stretched, or to take on catastrophe insurance, we will, at times, buy protective puts below the market.

It is my pledge to you that I will always invest all of my liquid assets side-by-side with yours in an attempt to achieve unparalleled performance.

The origin of our name

Oristano is a scenic estate on the island of Jamaica, where my parents used to go to escape the frigid winters of the North. My father, an excellent captain and sailor, loved this place so much that he named his boat, Oristano. I decided to name my company Oristano as a testament to my father’s steady hand and my commitment to working with my clients to steer them through the most buoyant and turbulent markets.
